It’s been one month since an explosion blew the roof clean off of Tom and Constance’s little church. Ever since the world devolved into a war-torn military state, they and their fellow band of outcasts found refuge here. Ed, the self-ascribed intellectual and theologian of the group, aims to do something about the church’s dilapidated state. That night, a boy mysteriously appears on the side of the road. With some consternation from Tom, the boy is accepted into the community. As the weeks go by, however, the boy not only appears to be a promising member, but seems - as far as Ed can tell - to wield strange, auspicious, powers. With his help, Ed sets to work, building a new church and a greater community than he ever could’ve imagined.
